Fur and Loathing

Thursday, 30 October 2003

Episode Synopsis
A man is found dead and is still dressed in a Raccoon suit. He's part of a group of people called "Furries"; Nick and Sara look into the murder of a convenience-store employee whose body was discovered in a freezer.
Episode Notes
Here is the TVGuide description of the episode:

"The writers at CSI have come up with some strange and kinky cases to investigate in the past (think the scuba diver in a tree or Lady Heather). But in this truly bizarre episode they've outdone themselves, which makes you wonder: do they have vivid imaginations or does stuff like this really happen? A man dressed in a full raccoon suit becomes roadkill after he's hit by a car on a dark stretch of highway. When Grissom and Catherine arrive, they discover he has also been shot. It turns out the dude is part of a weird group that believes in acting on animal instinct."

The rating for the show is listed as: Suggestive Dialog, Strong, Coarse Language, Explicit Sexual Situations, Violence

I thought this episode was histerical. I couldn't believe that there really was a "Furries" convention, so I looked it up online. THERE IS!!! lol

Since people say it really happens then it happens. Stranger things have happened. Nice to know it wasnt made afterall....

The person who wrote this script doesn't seem to have any knowledge of us to begin with. He was just trying to make a show. Thats what I think. We aren't like that. If people would get to know us, they would see we are just like them.

The episode was quite intresting to watch, but the way they made the furrys look is disapointing!! All they showed was the night clubs and yiffing and such... It makes furrys look sex crazed!! Lies!! I agree with bluewolf and kitten!! We're not freaks!!!

But it deserves twenty. Man it was so hilarious. Warped sense of humor, that's me!

EXCUSE ME? "Weird group"? You people are all a bunch of ignorant, intolerant morons. Furries are not freaks of any kind. This is just another form of publicly-accepted discrimination. This is so innacurate I have to struggle to keep that pizza down.

This episode had a realistic ring to it. I've heard of "plushies" before. People into wearing fur and acting as animals. I was amazed to see it on TV and so well written. I'm relatively new to the CSi drama series and love it. William Petersen was in "To

One of my three favorite episodes ever. The hilarity was just too much to take! I wound up crying, I was laughing so hard, before the end of it. 'I like hairy chests, but I'm not about to bop a six foot weasel.'

LIES!!! ALL LIES!!!!! Furries are not freaks in any way, shape or form. Jerry Stahl should be ashamed of himself for twisting the truth like that. It's a d**n shame he could get away with it!
LadyGarou 10 September 2004  Vote: 5/10
I loved this episode and because I saw this it has interested me to find out more about those who are Furry. Not to much the sex aspect, doesn't interest me in the bit, but more for the animal aspect. The Furries should that into consideration. Informatio

its an interesting idea but the overall story was a lie because not all furrys are into kinky nightclubs and junk. and so what if some are and who says he even knows anything about furrys? he has no authoritah to make such accusations

Sure, the description of Furries aren't all true (though, like in all circles, there are sex crazed, weird people), but it's original and it's interesting. Also, most Furries I've met have, they confess, at least partially included their hobby in their se

this episode got me p***ed off! i do not like the fandom viewed as a "freakish sex craze" or something like it. this episode made it look like we do drugs or something go to http://www.tigerden.com/infopage/furry/csi.html to see what they are about

This is funny funny funny. I was laughing all the time, even it's a drama, because the poor racoon guy got murdered. I am furry, of course, and I feel myself full represented in this episode. You are doing very well Jerry (Bruckheimer) with this series.

Okay, I do believe that this is the a sign that CSI writers are running out of ideas, in spite of this, this episode was HILARIOUS, I watched with my brother and sister, and all three of us where practically on the floor laughing our heads off. This is p

If it were possible to score lower, i would have. this episode sickens me. How could they portray us furries like that? I for one am outraged that they think ruining the good name of a perfectly reasonable and decent group of people like us could make

Great episode and one of the first I ever saw. The whole Furry thing was just interesting to me and funny to boot. Once again the chaos theory is in play on that one BIG time.

I really loved this episode I thought it was brilliantly written and I just wanted to say that the writers did not generalise and say all Furries are like that, they were part of the 'private party' they also showed the lecture etc. I found it informative

Pro: revealed little things about how furries work and opened people up to go look farther into them.. cons: did not portray a very good show of furries sadly.. but yes, they did say that that particular group was a secluded section

This episode really bothers me. You think we're freaks? Lets take your hobbies and see how the writers of CSI portray them. Then I think you'd be a sick freak too huh? This episode was sexed up for the media, so all the people on here laughing yo

Let me see. They did the fat people, the short people, the S&M people, and now the most bizzare group of all, the furry people. Are there any freaks they haven't covered?

I was just absolutely offended by this episode and I garauntee I won't be watching anymore of this show. First of all, for all you ignorant people out there, a real 'Furpile' is just a bunch of fursuiters who pile up near eachother to show off their suits
AFROMANS 23 July 2006  Vote: 5/10
This is hillarious. These furries commenting here are trying to make themselves look good. THIS IS THE TRUTH. Furries do have sex in fursuits, furries are mainly grown men. They just don't do this at conventions. One more thing, YIFF YIFF YIFF YIFF Y

This was a weird episode. I don't really like it when they are accidental deaths, its not as interesting. there were definitely some funny quotes in this one. again, cath's expressions are priceless.

Just to tell you people who thinks furries are freaks, Warner Bros. were furries too. If they weren't furries, there would be no such thing as Bugs Bunny, or anything like that. No fur conventions in this world are perverted THAT much. No, furries don't

This is total shit. staged, shit. this is not what furries are like. although, some are, but very little are. most furries dont even wear fursuits. For example. all characters that are animals that have human characteristics (anthropomorphic) are furries
